new, impoved right inner
driveshaft, with gearbox stub axle and bearing
 
In
vehicles of FORD Galaxy family the splined connection between right
driveshaft and the gearbox output stub axle damages often after 2 – 3
years. The improperly made connection sealing is a reason of this
situation. The water (often with salt) creates a corrosion of splines
and a connection losing in result. The damaged connection looks usually
like this:

 

What’s remedy
for
this problem?

 

On place of short, easy-corroded stub axle bush we install much longer
one, with new, deep splines. This change needs a new
inner axle
shaft. The comparison of the connections you can see at the picture:

To
be sure the connection has been well sealed and tightened we close it
with a rubber cover and steel bands. The assembled set with a new
bearing,  mounted in a steel holder, you can see on the
picture beside:

version with a bearing dedicated to the aluminium carrier looks like
